  • Battery connection cable
  • Solar panels
  • CG1129 solar SLA battery charger

Rechargeable SLA Batteries

These rechargeable SLA batteries can be operated in any position, and they function from -20 to +60 degrees C, to operate the OWL data logger, Anabat Systems, or other equipment. The service life is typically 5 years, depending on the depth of discharge and on the quality and timeliness of recharging. The OWL data loggers can operate off of either 6 or 12 volts DC. Certain external equipment (Tensiometers and Titley Anabats for example) require 12 volts.

12 volt, 7.2 amp-hour

This battery is recommended for the OWL when 12 volts is required by external probes such as the Irrometer or tensiometer. The OWL itself can operate on either 6 or 12 volts.

6 volt, 12 amp-hour

This battery is recommended for the OWL when 6 volts can operate everything in the system. The OWL itself can operate on either 6 or 12 volts.
